Ingrid “Terre” Zimmerman, age 82, passed away peacefully on July 18, 2025, in Blaine, Minnesota, surrounded by her loving family.
Terre was born on December 24, 1942, in Dittersbach, Germany, during a time of great upheaval and uncertainty. She spent the early years of her life there with her mother, Anneliese, her Aunt Ena, and her German cousins, Monika and Wolfe. These early experiences shaped her quiet strength, resilience, and deep love for family—qualities that defined her throughout her life.
She later immigrated to the United States with her family, eventually building a beautiful life rooted in love, generosity, and steadfast devotion. She was preceded in death by her parents, Don and Anneliese Peck, and carried their values forward with grace and humility.
Terre is survived by her beloved husband of 54 years, Ron Zimmerman; her children: Randy(Jackie) Zimmerman, Jamie (Shelley) Zimmerman, Tim (Leann) Zimmerman, and daughter Dawn Bradley; her treasured grandchildren: Tiffany (Cody) Austin, Bucky (Aubrey) Zimmerman, Drew Zimmerman, Elizabeth Bradley, Hailey Bradley, and Nate Bradley; seven great-grandchildren; and her brother, Gary (Teri) Peck, as well as nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.
In 1978, Ron and Terre purchased a resort in northern Minnesota, where they spent 25 years creating a haven of laughter, relaxation, and lifelong friendships. What began as a business became a second home to many, as guests returned year after year and became more like extended family. Terre was the heart of the resort—welcoming, thoughtful, and always ready with a kind word or a warm meal. The stories and memories from those years are countless and cherished by all who were part of them.
Ron and Terre eventually retired and spent six months of the year in Longville, Minnesota, staying connected to the land and community they loved, while also enjoying winters on the Gulf Coast of southern Florida. In recent years, they relocated full-time to Blaine, Minnesota, to be closer to family as Terre’s health began to decline.
Terre found joy in life’s simplest moments; reading, family dinners, and time spent with her friends and family. She lived with quiet purpose and unwavering love, touching every life she encountered.
The family extends special thanks to the staff at Allina Health Hospice for their excellent care, support, and guidance during Terre’s final days. Your compassion meant more than words can express.Though she is no longer with us, Terre’s legacy lives on in the family she raised, the lives she touched, and the love she gave so freely. She will be dearly missed and forever remembered.
There will be a celebration of life for Terre later this year in Iowa.
