   Most adults prefer to age in place—that is, to remain in their home as long as possible. Although they feel safest in their own homes, it can be a surprise to learn that falls are the most common home accidents for older adults.

CPR/AED First Aid classes offered by CRMC

   The American Heart Association’s Heartsaver CPR/AED and First Aid classes for people interested in learning how to save a life are being offered by Cuyuna Regional Medical Center on Wednesday and Thursday, October 20 and 21, from 4 to 7 p.m. in Crosby.

ATV crash results in serious injuries

   Cass County Sheriff Tom Burch reports that on Sunday, September 5th 2021 at 5:43 p.m., the Cass County Sheriff’s Office received a report of an ATV crash with injuries in Unorganized Township, rural Bena, MN and south of Lake Winnibigoshish in the Chippewa National Forest.

Longville’s blood drive brings in 50 volunteers

   Longville community hosted a blood drive with Vitalant on August 25 at St. Edwards Catholic Church  which helped collect a total of 54 units of blood products for patients in need.

Hackensack’s blood drive brings in 71 volunteers

   Hackensack community hosted a blood drive with Vitalant on August 24 at the Community Building which helped collect a total of 70 units of blood products for patients in need.

Crash injures 5 on Hwy. 200

   A crash on Hwy. 200 near Onigum Road Wednesday, Sept. 1 at 4:38 p.m. injured five occupants of a 2000 GMC Yukon driven by Catherine Ann Bruce, 25, of Walker.

Pop-Up Pantry Tues. Sept. 14 in Longville

   A pop-up pantry will take place at the Longville Food Shelf (back lot) on Tuesday, Sept. 14 from 9:45 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. or until the food is gone.

Free Friday at Cass Co. Museum with author Sue Moline

   Friday, September 10 will be Free Friday at the Cass County Museum in Walker courtesy of Orton Oil and Northern Star Co-op. At 1 p.m.
