July 19 Hackensack Children’s Fishing Contest Results

   The fish were not biting, they were jumping on shore!  Just kidding of course, but we had the first 10 fish in less than 30 seconds, and they never stopped coming.

Investigation results in arrests, drugs seized

   Sheriff Tom Burch reports that on July 16th 2022 the Cass County Sheriff’s Office, pursuant to an investigation into the use, sale and trafficking of illegal controlled substances, conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in Wilson Township, rural Pine River, MN.

Sheriff’s Corner - Be bear aware

   In recent years, and especially in the last couple of months, we have noted an increase in nuisance bear complaints and have received requests for information on how to deal with nuisance animals, specifically bear problems.

Father Joseph Fink welcomed as new Pastor

   Bishop Daniel J. Felton of the Diocese of Duluth has announced that Father Joseph Fink, a recently retired priest from the Archdiocese of St. Paul/ Minneapolis has agreed to be Priest Sacramental Minister through the summertime, both at St. Edward’s of Longville and St. Paul’s of Remer.
