Longville is busy: J.H. Tabaka is building a poultry house, Miss Culhane has a new ice house, Merritt Turner a new cottage, Ralph Manders a new kitchen, H.C. Manders a log bungalow, and Ed Johnson a coat of stucco on his house.
Leslie Shepard moved his family home to Wabedo from the road camp Saturday where they had been the past two weeks.
Miss Lillian Comstock and Miss Melissa Gray hiked to Bena from Federal Dam Sunday.

Oct. 13, 1950
The Long Pine Playground Association met in Longville. President A. Leslie Smith presided, and the group went on record as favoring a $6 non-resident combination man-wife fishing license.
Walter Klock, Special Guard, Military Intelligence, US Army is home at Boy River on leave for a few days.
Clarion Shepard left Monday from Blind Lake for the cities to attend the Minnesota School of Business.

Oct. 24, 1975
Robert Nelson retired last spring from the Crystal Police department and came to Pleasant Lake to operate Wheel-In-Campgrounds. He was appointed deputy for the enforcement of the Water Safety Laws and patrol of Pleasant Lake.
Mr. and Mrs. Dean Engen have moved into the George Boe, Sr. place east of Remer which they purchased some time ago.
The Remer Area Lions Club latest project is the new double size tennis courts. Bob Bailey and Richard Olson are fundraising co-chairmen.

Sam Goose,64, died Oct. 15th. He was born in 1935 at Oak Point to Samuel and Anna Goose. He was a US Air Force veteran. Samuel was a Game Warden for the Leech Lake Reservation from 1975-78.
Calvin Carpenter, 62, of Longville was born to Cecil and Dorothy Carpenter. He married Paula Hoppe on Sept. 10, 1960. Calvin was branch manager of Remer Woodland Bank and an insurance agent there.
Katie Schmid of Longville has been awarded the United States National Award for band by the US Achievement Academy. Only 10% of students receive this award.
