Harel Hutchinson of Remer has been working in Federal Dam the past week.
Jake Whitted and family of Boy River visited in Wabedo over Sunday with relatives.
Three new pupils were enrolled this week at the Onigum school: John Monroe, John and Sam Gould which brings present enrollment up to 38.
75 Years Ago
Dec. 3, 1950
Harvey Hinshaw retired last June. He was superintendent of the Boy River schools from 1934 to 1942. He passed away on November 29th.
Young people home to Remer for the Thanksgiving holiday were Phil Blair, Minneapolis; Russell Bloyer of Bemidji, and Fred Nicklason of St. Peter.
Maggie Lind, well known in Remer, died on November 23 at the age of 83.

The skating rink at Austin’s Lagoon is a wonderful place for kids. Uncle and Dodo are on hand to supervise. It is well-lighted at night with colorful lights and Dodo’s door is always open for the young ones who get cold hands and feet.
Mr. and Mrs. Wally Peterson are back at Federal Dam working on their house. Vicki is returning to work at the dental office at PH in Cass Lake.
Mr. and Mrs. Gary Slagle and boys spent Thanksgiving at the Ed Slagle home in Cohasset.

With temperatures near zero, power was disrupted to the City of Longville at midnight when underground electric cable equipment failed causing the entire city to go dark.
Carl “Charlie” Bluhn homesteaded on Upper Trelipe lake in 1907 and farmed. He left his job as a buggy painter in Michigan. Part of his farm is home to Chuck and Dot Waterhouse. His daughter Emma Morse lived in Longville.
Traci Knapp, a sophomore at Luther College in Iowa, is a member of their basketball team. She is a 1999 graduate of Northland High School.
