Jan. 7, 1926
Mr. and Mrs. Carl Larson of Pine Lake township welcomed the arrival of a son on January 3rd.
Whipple & Holtze, proprietors of Lake View resort at Whipholt, have finished cutting ice and have a well-filled ice house.
C.A. Walker and Ralph Felton went to Boy River last Thursday to get a truck load of oats.

An Onigum PTA was organized Thursday evening. Officers elected were Percy Lyons, Joe Bellanger, Reverend Rice and Mrs. Percy Lyons.
Hugh Slocum, owner of the local garage in Federal Dam, made a business trip to St. Cloud Friday.
Ted Haugen baled hay for Art Preble on the Island last week.
Federal Dam is celebrating the Grand Opening of their new Village Hall on December 23rd with a dance and music by Lem Hawkins and Orchestra.
Mr. and Mrs. Ed Folwick announce the arrival of a baby girl at the Grand Rapids hospital.
The Longville Town basketball team was victorious over Remer on Sunday night.

Jan. 5, 1951
Della Mae Forbord is home on Christmas vacation at Boy Lake. She plans on going back to the cities January 2, where she is employed.
Young people’s social was held at the Dauber home at Blind Lake township on Wednesday evening. The young folks also enjoyed a sleigh ride.
Mr. and Mrs. Frank DeVorak and Mr. and Mrs. Ed McKeig of Federal Dam attended the Lena Haskins dance at LaPorte Saturday night.

Jan. 1, 1976
About 11 dogsled teams ran the courses during the weekend North Star Sled Dog Club races near Walker on Lake May. Entrants came from as far away as Manitoba and Alaska.
The House of Mentzer, a women’s clothing shop, has moved to the Shopping Block at Pine River. Bobbie, the owner, first opened the store in August of 1974.
Guests at the Gerald Wake home at Federal Dam over Christmas were David and Cindy Wake of Big Fork and Dick and Kathy Wake of Embarrass.

The Longville Lakes Snowmobile will hold its annual banquet at Patrick’s Fine Dining on January 13th. The Eagle Country Snowmobile Club will hold its Radar Run on Little Sand Lake on January 20th.
Owners of Pinedale resort for the past 14 years, Gregory and Vivian Albachten sold the resort to their daughter, Mary Albachten and Karen Kaehler of Wabedo Springs Enterprises of Richfield.
Jerry Lynch, 72, died December 21st. His parents were Gerald and Nettie Lynch. Jerry built the Lake Region Motel, started a live bait business in the 50s, which he moved to a new location in 1957. He was also involved with a wild rice business with his parents.
