“The Opioid Epidemic- What everyone needs to know” Tues., Oct. 8th


   A free public community forum “The Opioid Epidemic- What everyone needs to know” will be held on October 8th, 2024, Tuesday from 6:00 p.m. -8:00 p.m. at the Walker-Hackensack-Akeley School Auditorium located at 301 4th St, Walker MN. (Enter in the Northeast Door #4)

   The public is invited to join us for a panel discussion about the awareness of opioids and other drugs in our communities from Law Enforcement, a Medical Professional, those with Shared lived experience, and Public Health.  Topics will include drug prevention, treatment and recovery, harm reduction, and how public can help our communities.  Public is invited to ask panel questions during the forum. The lifesaving Naloxone (Narcan) will be available with training provided at no cost to those in attendance. Intended audience is for adults and no registration or RSVP is necessary.

   This event is coordinated by the Cass County Opioid Settlement Fund Committee and sponsored by Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe Tribal Police, Essentia Health, Cass County Sheriff’s Office, and Cass County Public Health.
