LongBow Women’s Golf League results
Fourteen LongBow Ladies Golf League members teed off at 9:30 on September 11 to play in a 9-hole event to complete their 18-week season. The four groups played a game in which each hole featured a different off-beat instruction, e.g., putt with the driver or tee off while blindfolded.
Winners with low net on the “crazy” holes were Jeanne Major, Jean Marie Merrick, and Laura Varner. Jeanne won closest to the pin on Hole 2. Jean Marie’s drive on Hole 4 while blindfolded was the longest at 130 yards. Kathy Newton had longest putt on Hole 5. Mona Emerson putted only once to win the fewest putts on Hole 6 using her driver. Dianne Larson’s drive was closest to the center line on Hole 9.
Following a delicious catered lunch at the LongBow clubhouse, the 2024 league champions were named. Members may play in three qualifying rounds during the season. The best two of three are used to name the winners. The league champion is Pat Roush with a two-round total gross of 180. Suzie Mandsager won low net league champion with a two-round net of 133.
