Oct. 16, 1924
Peter Skogland almost had a run-away with a pair of wild horses at Inguadona on Friday.
William Pell has traded his Cole six car for a Dodge sedan and is now ready for winter.
Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Shepard, Mr. and Mrs. S. Whitted, Mr. and Mrs. J. Dauber and Mr. and Mrs. Lester Fick cleaned and oiled floors at the Blind Lake school.

Oct. 14, 1949
Edith Catherine Neururer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Neururer of Remer, became the bride of Charles Alfred Gilstead on October 1st.
Frank G. Binder “Boots” died October 5th. He was a Hackensack businessman, first at the Bodeker Store in Hackensack and also owned the Backus Café.
Mrs. B. Schoon gave birth to a 10 lb. 15 oz. baby named Garry James at the Wadena Hospital.

Oct. 17, 1974
Senior halfback Dan Bailey, Northland’s senior, broke the school’s rushing record last Friday against the Walker Warriors by rushing for a total of 279 yards in the game.
Lester Huddle died October 10th at the age of 66. He moved here from Minneapolis in 1928 and began building Huddle’s Resort at Whipholt which he operated for 46 years.
Platform shoes ruled unsafe at any speed. Whether worn for hobbling on sidewalks or for groping for the gas pedal, they have been ruled as unsafe.

Clifford Fox, 66, married Carol McCutchan in 1953. He served in the Army from 1953-56. Following his retirement to Longville, he helped to build the new Salem Church.
Northland Jaycees co-sponsor a pancake breakfast at the Longville Elementary School to benefit the 1999 Haunted House which is co-sponsored by Camp Olson.
The Remer Bethany Lutheran Church Council has named Rev. Dr. Donald Schultz as its pastor. After teaching for 20 years, he changed careers to become a pastor.
