Summer fundraiser meal at Hackensack UCC July 17th

Holiday meals are taken for granted by so many of us that we forget that there are families that are not so fortunate and could use some assistance in this area. Our Men’s Fellowship group at Hackensack Union Congregational Church is spearheading Summer Fundraiser Meals, held at UCC on the 3rd Wednesday of the month, from 5 p.m. - 6 p.m. in the Friendship Hall. All “free-will donations” go directly toward purchasing the main course of chicken or ham for the Holiday Baskets that are put together, and distributed by, the Hackensack Food Shelf. These bountiful baskets are given to families at Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter to assist those in our area who may not have the resources to purchase a holiday meal.

Wednesday, July 17th is our next Fundraiser Meal, of pulled pork sandwiches, beans, and potato salad, with all proceeds going directly to the goal of $1050.00 that will cover all three holidays.  Each holiday costs $350 for all the meat that is included in the 30-40 baskets created each holiday season.

Northwoods Acoustic Jam, hosted by Dick Kimmel, will entertain everyone throughout dinner with their wonderful group of talented musicians.

The UCC Men’s Fellowship group has partnered with the Lions, Faith in Action, and the Hackensack Food Shelf for years and looks forward to this continuing tradition. Mark your calendars and come to UCC for an evening of fun, music, and great food for such a worthy cause!  See you there!

Hackensack’s Union Congregational Church is located at 401 Lake Ave, Hackensack.
