July 10, 1924
Art Winger of Remer came out to repair a well for A.W. Wieneke in Trelipe.
Mr. Weekly, the well man from Bemidji, was called to Federal Dam to fix the town well.
Mr. Tobiason had a slight touch of frost on his potato crop in Inguadona.
75 Years Ago
July 8, 1949
Prentis Albert Bartholomew passed away on June 23. He had been a resident of Backus for nearly 50 years.
With the temperature soaring toward the 100 degree mark, the worst wind storm to hit the county in 29 years occurred on July 3rd with wind speeds of 60 and 70 miles per hour.
Ray Tabaka of the Longville Garage has a new Oldsmobile dealership.

July 11, 1974
The Butch Jordans, the Dean Slagles, the David Feltons, and the Dennis Weaver families enjoyed a picnic at Mable Lake on the 4th of July.
Gus Holmberg was seriously injured while working with a chain saw at the Olson place on Webb Lake. He was taken to the St. Cloud Hospital for surgery.
Funeral services are pending for John Ecklund who passed away at his home in Remer on July 4th.

Disa Hillstrom graduated magna cum laude from UMD with a Bachelor of Science in education degree. Amy Weber received a Bachelor of Arts from Hamline University College of Liberal Arts.
Lawn tractor races have become a tradition as Remer celebrated Firemen’s Day on July 3rd.
The Longville 4th of July parade Grand Marshall Madge Slagle endured the persistent rain to wave to her admirers. She is a 64-year resident of Longville.
