   How do you wash the entire fishing pier at once? Invite 177 kids and their families to come and show their fishing skills at your contest!  Take a look at the photos on Facebook, the entire fishing pier desk was under water at one time. No persons or pier were harmed in this process.

Grand Prize Winner

   The fishing was happening though, with so much activity, there was a constant hum of noise from the fun happening. Our Grand Champion of the day was also the Age 0-5 year old Most Fish Winner, and the most appropriately dressed fisherman in his Red, White, and Blue flag clothing and PFD.  So cute!

Kids fishing contest ages 0-5

At the Hackensack Kid’s Fishing Contest Tuesday, July 2, 44 kids in the 0-5 year old group, caught and released 47 fish. Isac G. caught the largest fish (14 oz.); Melanie P. reeled in the first fish; Derek S. landed the most fish (5); and Charlie R. hooked the smallest fish (3 1/2 inches).

   A few big fish were caught this week which was nice to see. And some fisher persons were catching so many small fish.  The Age 10-15 group caught over half their fish amongst 3 contestants. Finally, 400 hot dogs were cooked and served, so nobody went home hungry!

Kids fishing contest ages 6-9

At the July 2 Hackensack Kid’s Fishing Contest, 70 kids in the 6-9 year old group, caught and released 143 fish. Julian G. caught the largest fish (19 oz.); Adler W. reeled in the first fish; Maverik K. landed the most fish (24); and the smallest fish was hooked by Quinn F.. (3 3/8 inches) .

   Special thank you to all our volunteers, and especially Jdee & Gary Reuter who heard we needed help at the weighing and measuring station this week and jumped in to help.  They did a fantastic job.

Kids fishing contest ages 10-15

In the 10-15 year old group, Tuesday, June 25, 63 kids caught and released 198 fish. Oliver N, hooked the largest fish (16 oz.); the first fish was caught by Noah S.; Charlie E. caught the most fish (59) and the smallest fish (3 1/4 inches) was landed by Wyatt B.

   The hot dog sponsor this week was Gallery of Homes Realty (galleryofhomesmn.com) with Dan Pflugshaupt and his crew serving.  Thank you for handling so many hot dogs this week.

Minnow Racing Winner

Arya C. of Ramsey was last week’s minnow race winner.

   The dates for this year are every Tuesday, June 11th – August 13th, 2024 from 11am - 12:30pm. Be early to register before it starts. We look forward to seeing everyone that can make it.
