100 Years Ago

February 28, 1924

   An Odd Fellows lodge was installed in and located on the second floor of the Claubaugh building in Federal Dam.

   Ben Lego and Joe Neururer returned home to Federal Dam with new Fords.

   The box social at the Blind Lake schoolhouse given by the Farmers’ Club was well attended on Saturday night.

75 Years Ago

February 25, 1949

   Mr. and Mrs. Joe McCall and Mr. and Mrs., Harvey Countrymen and children went to the Shingobee Playground near Walker on Sunday.

   Roy Huddle entertained a number of his friends at a Valentine’s Day party at his home.

   Harold Forbes and Lars Jordan left Friday with the bulldozer and plow to help in the snowbound operations in North Dakota.

50 Years Ago

February 28, 1974

   The Ben Browns have sold their farm to Allen Peterson and purchased the home of Allan Hare west of Remer.

   Mrs. Lester Waldorfenter entertained the Woman Lake Yahtzee Club on Monday.

   Greg Hintz, District Champion at 180 pounds from Northland High, finished second at the regional wrestling meet held in Bagley.

March 2, 1999 

  Framing steel was set last week for the new Arrowhead Builders Supply building in Longville.

   Remer mayor Don Welk was pleased with his city’s successful application for a $600,000 grant to improve their sanitary sewer system.

   The Longville Ambulance building received a $1,000 boost from Blind Lake township recently. The money came from a grant from the Wall-Mart Economic Developments Grants.
