Northland Remer Education Minnesota announces Raina Boucher as the 2024 Northland Community Schools Teacher of the Year. Boucher has provided for the educational needs of District 118 for 24 years. She has served in a wide variety of positions and currently teaches Kindergarten. Her Northland family selected her to receive this honor for her service, dedication to the art of teaching, and collaboration with board and administrative initiatives.
Boucher’s career began in Northland in 2000 when she was hired as a part-time physical education and visual arts teacher at the Remer/Longville Elementary Schools. She then transferred to special education, where she taught students with emotional and behavioral needs for over nine years. She also taught second and third grade prior to her current position. Her leadership skills, relationship-building strengths, willingness to serve, and diverse experiences make her a valued team member serving on multiple district committees.
Raina’s caring nature and willingness to go above and beyond for the students, families, and staff of Northland Community Schools are qualities that lend to her students’ success and help them believe they can achieve whatever they desire. Her contagious enthusiasm for learning and the natural world around her allows the students with whom she works to not only achieve greatness but also find joy in the learning process.
