   A free showing of the documentary “Roots So Deep” by noted producer & director Peter Byck which focuses on the significant work of producing food, will take place Friday, April 12 at Happy Dancing Turtle on the Hunt Utilities Group Resilient Living Campus, 2331 Dancing Wind Rd SW in Pine River.

   “Roots So Deep” covers work by all types of farmers and farm methods with a special emphasis on regenerative agriculture. Byck’s other films include Carbon Nation and Carbon Cowboys. The event is co-hosted by the Crow Wing River Basin Forage Council and sponsored in part by Grassland 2.0. The doors open at 5 p.m. with light refreshments and hors devours, with the film beginning at 6 p.m. Following the showing, at 8 p.m., Peter Byck will be attending virtually to answer questions.    “Peter Byck is a captivating story teller and talented videographer. Through real farm examples and interviews with researchers and scientists, Byck tells the story of how regenerative farming systems can heal the land, people and rural communities. His film’s are thought provoking, and give us solutions and promise towards a better future,” said Happy Dancing Turtle’s Jim Chamberlin who will be facilitating at the event. “This is a great opportunity to network around the shared work of conservation, and also connect virtually with Peter Byck.”
