   Wondering how to get around without a car? You are invited to the Faith in Action Volunteer Driver Meet & Greet on Tuesday, November 28th from 10 am to 1 p.m. at the Pine River Area Food Shelf, at 245 Barclay Avenue in Pine River.

   Faith in Action volunteers and staff will be available to answer your questions about transportation and other services in the Pine River/Backus area, and to sign up new riders. Rides and services are provided for adults of all ages and for children with their parents or guardians, with a priority on medical rides, trips to grocery store or food shelf, and errands around town. There are no income or age restrictions. Registration and scheduling in advance are required. Faith in Action does not charge any fees for services and encourages cost-share contributions to cover the costs.

   Faith in Action for Cass County is a local nonprofit that connects community volunteers with people who need some neighborly help with rides, homemaking and chores, basic home repair, caregiver support, friendly visiting and telephone reassurance. Volunteers can choose what, when and how often they want to help, and they receive liability insurance, service coordination, training, and mileage reimbursement.
