100 Years Ago

May 31, 1923

   J.B. Haskell of Longville was in Walker this week and purchased a Ford Touring Car from Bennett Bros, local agents.

   Mr. Everett Fairbanks returned home to Federal Dam with a new Overland

   Mr. and Mrs. S. Whitted and sons Roy and Claude attended the movies in Pine River on Saturday.

75 Years Ago

May 21, 1948

   Ida Wickstrand became the bride of Howard Toffle, son of Mrs. Elsie Toffle of Boy River Tuesday morning.

   A prefab home is being assembled on Ten Mile Lake for Bing Bryngelson of Minneapolis.

   Georgia’s New Apparel Shop opens May 21 in the remodeled former Free building on Main Street.

50 Years Ago

May 24, 1973

   Drop in to the 6th seasonal opening of the Remer Arts & Crafts Shop and have a cup of coffee.

   Brian Jeffrey was born May 15 at Wrangell, Alaska. He is welcomed by a big brother Shawn. Mike and Joan Lynch are the proud parents, and Joann and Jerry Lynch are grandparents.

   Mr. and Mrs. John Hathaway are in the process of building a new home at Hackensack.

25 Years Ago

May 26, 1998 

   Gary Slagle of Slagle’s Demolition has added roll-off dumpsters to his business.

   Forty-seven fourth graders from Remer/Longville Elementary schools camped overnight on May 7th and spent May 8th fishing at Little Sand Campground near Remer.
