Northland High School: Celebrates There’s No Place Like Homecoming

   Northland High School will be celebrating Homecoming week Sept. 27 - Oct. 1. The staff and students will participate in many events and dress-up days throughout the week.

   The students will kick off dress-up days on Monday with “Not in Kansas Anymore” by wearing flannel. That evening the Lady Eagles Volleyball will host Laporte with Junior High and JV games beginning at 5:45 p.m. and the Varsity playing at 7:15 p.m.

   Tuesday’s dress-up theme will be “Poppy Field Day” which is pajama day. At 4:00 p.m. the cross country team will host a meet at Blueberry Hills Golf Course in Deer River. The volleyball team will travel to Blackduck with Junior High  playing at 5:00 p.m.; JV at 6:00 p.m. and Varsity starting at 7:00 p.m. 

   Wednesday’s dress-up theme is “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” with students wearing class colors. That evening there will be a pizza party in the commons for the students at 5:30 p.m. followed by the annual student vs student vs staff volleyball tournament for 7th - 12th NHS students starting at 6:00 p.m.

   With Thursday being picture day, the dress-up theme is “Oz the Great and Powerful: Dress to Impress.” Students and staff will also participate in a fun afternoon sponsored by the Army National Guard. After school students are invited to use their creativity and make posters, using supplies provided by the student leadership team, for the volleyball game that evening against Indus. Junior High and JV games will begin at 5:45 p.m. with the Varsity game starting at 7:15 p.m. Also, the Junior High Football team will be play an away game against Cromwell-Wright beginning at 5:00 p.m.

   Friday’s dress-up theme is “There’s a Storm Coming” with student’s showing their school pride by wearing either Eagle or Storm apparel. The Homecoming Coronation will take place at 10:15 a.m. in the Remer Elementary Gym.  Beginning at 5:00 p.m. the Northland Leadership team will be sponsoring a tailgate party  with a bonfire at the back pavilion. Then at 5:30 p.m., the Northland Booster Club will be putting on a cookout for fans. The Homecoming football game vs. McGregor starts at 7:00 p.m. with the Homecoming Dance being held at Northland High School from 8:30 to 11:30 p.m. Please join us for the coronation, the tailgate party, and the football game.
