100 Years Ago
Sept. 8, 1921
A Community Fair will be held at Longville on September 17 to show the efforts of farmers in the townships of Wabedo, Inguadona, Pine Lake, and Kego.
A. Watt and James Blacketter were busy loading cedar at Cyphers last week.
The Boy River Community Club will hold an agricultural fair on September 17th. Farm products, livestock, and needlework for the ladies, a barbecue dinner will be featured as well as the usual races and sports.

Sept. 6, 1946
More bear are troublesome in the Remer area. One was killed on the Slater farm. Harold Johnson killed another bear that had killed seven sheep. Sid Meyers, south of Remer, killed one that was attacking one of his calves.
Mr. & Mrs. Ozbun moved into their new home Sunday which they purchased from William Peake.
Marie White sold her D&M Café to Dorothy Jordan, and she will leave for the West.

Sept. 2, 1971
Sue Hasser of the Mule Lake area left Friday for Eden Valley where she will teach the coming school year.
Mr. and Mrs. Richard Erickson have sold their resort on Big Boy Lake and will continue to live near the resort in a mobile home.
Mrs. Ruth Campbell, Sharon and Bruce of Minneapolis spent the weekend at their trailer home on Sugar Point.

Remer Drug has closed its doors and an auction in scheduled for August 29th. Owners Ray and Dee Kral have put in 49 years of doing business in this community.
Rusty Lilyquist of Longville caught a 37 lb. 50 ½” Muskie on August 19th in Leech Lake.
Three boys, Wes Lofstrom of Grand Rapids, Jack Blundell of Remer and Danny Dolan of Hill City, along with their instructor, Scott Peterson, competed in Orlando, FL. in the Tae Kwon Do Nationals competition.
