100 Years Ago

June 30, 1921

   Quite a number of men are at work on the road west of the Inguadona store.

   H. C. McNair of Federal Dam was appointed agent for the State Humane Society for Cass County this week.

   Bruce Seiberts of Oklahoma purchased a 40-acre tract of lakeshore land at Pipe Island and will build a summer home.

June 28, 1946

   Mr. and Mrs. Maynard Free moved to their new home at Remer this weekend.

   Mr. and Mrs. Francis Olson are moving into the house vacated by the Buttkes at Federal Dam.

July 1, 1971

   Army Private Charles B. Ratz, son of Mr. and Mrs. Merle Ratz, Sr, of Longville, recently was assigned to the 2nd Armored Division  at Ft. Hood, TX.

   George Kline, a resident of the Good Samaritan Home in Pine River, came to Longville to spend a few days.

   Rodney and Wendy Carpenter will be honored at a wedding Open House at the home of Tony and Judy Jordan on June 22nd.

   Action Title, Inc, owned by Deborah Slagle, recently received the “Award of Excellence” from Commonwealth Land Title Insurance Company at the Spring Award Ceremony held on June 6 in Bloomington.

   Bea Peterson, Remer Postmaster, presented Remer P & F Postal Clerk Sue Passard with a certificate for 4 years of service using no sick time.
