Well Boys and Girls, we are back to our old normal !!! We had 250 turtle racers this last week and that means about 770 folks in total on the main street of Longville. It was great to see everyone out with big smiles on their faces. So what do all those folks do when they are here? Well, for starters, we have eight games this year for everyone to play, including Fishing for Fun, Wiffle Ball, Bola Toss, Turtles on the Fence, Ring Toss,Turtle Roll and Bag the Turtle. Everyone is a winner...so there are many trips to the Prize Table...where there are gifts galore to choose from. So many choices....the kids can hardly make up their minds. Then there are the hula hoop contests and dances!! Lots of hula hoopers in all categories of Kids, Moms, Dads and Grandparents. And, once John called for the crowd to do the Hokey Pokey, they never got out of that big apple pie circle. They continued on through the YMCA and Chicken Dance and then closed with the Cha Cha slide where they all went into line dance formation! Our Turtle race judges handed out tons of coupons for all sorts of fun stuff from Longville Business and Chamber members. Everyone was happy! Then the Turtles came out! Once again, our Turtle manager, Willy, has done a great job of keeping the turtles fit as a fiddle! We ran 21 heats of 12 turtles in each heat. They scurried around like crazy and drove the crowd nuts. This all makes for a pretty big day in town! Time to go home and get on the lake. Once again, it was a great day for making memories ...
