The Leech Lake Area Chamber of Commerce is proud to host the 5th annual Walker Bay Days event to be held in Walker City Park on August 13th and 14th. The mission of this event is:

A celebration of our family values,

community pride and

commitment to the preservation

of the Leech Lake area,

our bountiful natural resources

and cultural history!

The festivities will begin Friday evening at 5:30 with the MN DNR hosting a family fun fishing activities and at 6:00 pm there will be a traditional PowWow exhibition on the lakefront; following that colorful event, there will be a Raptor Program given by the Audubon Center. You will be able to get a close look at some majestic birds and learn about their daily habits. The evening will conclude with the music of The Smith Family Band.

Saturday will be a full day of activities beginning with a 5K Run at 9:00 am and ending with local talent of The Hazbeenz. All members of The Hazbeenz are veteran northern MN rockers. Walker Bay days will offer something for every age- for children - there will be games, pony rides, puppet shows, a magician and the highlight of the day will be the Big Dig held in the afternoon. Again this year thousands of dollars worth of toys will be given away during the Big Dig, thanks to the generosity of Dale and Harriet Jones. Throughout the day there will be a volleyball tournaments, live entertainment, and returning for its second year is our popular Human Auction, you can bid on Jim the DJ, Greg the Brewmaster or Gary the Fishing Guide, just to name a few! For those who love the water, there will be boat rides and the Leech Lake Regatta will pass by the park. You will have the opportunity to try your luck at Bingo or join in the Talent Contest. Live music will be played throughout the day on the main stage under the tent.

New to Walker Bay Days this year is an Adult Big Dig, there is a $5.00 per person fee but everyone is guaranteed a prize! Also new is a History tent with local authors signing their books.
