Two Dine and Discover events scheduled: Walker Sept. 16 and Pine River Sept. 21
The same program will be repeated on Tuesday, September 21, 2010, at 11 a.m. at the Heartland Apartments Dining Room in Pine River.
Guest speaker will be Karlene Plante from A Caring Touch in Hackensack. Plante has over 10 years of experience with massage and relaxation therapy. She understands the importance of finding ways to let go of stress and understanding how stress hurts your health. Previously Plante was a Youth Minister who planned spiritual retreats and workshops on stress relief and relaxation. Following the Dine & Discover presentation, Plante will be available to answer questions.[[In-content Ad]]Free and open to the public, the Dine and Discover events are sponsored by the Lutheran Social Services Senior Nutrition Program and Faith in Action for Cass County. Community members are invited to join the group at the Senior Nutrition Site and listen to a guest speaker on a topic of interest to seniors, baby boomers, and caregivers.
Dine and Discover is an ongoing resource and information program each month. The speaker begins at 11:00 a.m. and the meal follows at 11:30. There is a fee for the meal, with a suggested donation for seniors. For people who don't need the meal, the speaker and question time are free and coffee will be provided.
Reservations for lunch must be called in to 218-587-2921 by noon on the day before the Dine and Discover event. No reservations are needed to attendthe speaker portion of the event - just come. The Heartland Apartments are located at 445 Snell Avenue in Pine River.
