Take a step back in time during the Remer Centennial History Crawl
Inside the Depot will be additional photo and video displays and exhibits of Remer's history. Renee Geving from the Cass County Museum will be there to share her knowledge of 'The History of Remer' and other compilations by her and Cecelia McKeig. Tom Witherow will preform old time piano music, and St. Paul's Catholic Church is providing a delicious lunch from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. Remer Centennial commemorative merchandise will be available for purchase too.
Pick up a walking history brochure and take a stroll down Main Street to learn about some of Remer's early development and see what occupies these historical sites now. For example, the building that housed Remer Drug & Variety until the mid 90's and is now Remer Arts & Crafts, will have author Margo Hansen doing a book signing of her new book "Sky's Bridal Train," an inspirational romance about a young woman who travels to the north woods of Minnesota by wagon train in search of her twin sister. Special book pricing and coupons for Remer Arts & Crafts is being offered. Other merchants will be offering specials for the Crawl, like 10 paperbacks for 100 cents ($1.00) at the Second Chance Thrift Store, in-house taste samplings from Northwoods Meats, nickel coffee at the Woodsman Café, plus specials at the Remer Muni and more.
The Historic Walking Tour brochures will be available at the Depot as well as throughout downtown. The Chamber invites everyone to be a part of the Remer Village Centennial year celebration.
