Northland Alliance Church 90th Anniversary
The special day will begin at 9:30 a.m. with a time of worship and celebration and conclude with lunch following the celebration. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend.
"When we think about the work that the Lord has done thru the years, we are very humbled," said Pastor Bill Ness. "I fully believe that God calls specific people at specific times in order to accomplish His work. His call is not only of pastors but also of lay people and we praise God for each person that He has called to be a part of this congregation over the years," Pastor Ness said.
The ministry work of the Christian and Missionary Alliance in Remer began in 1918 with a bible study and the church was officially founded in 1920. The first meeting was held at the Remer school.
Land was donated and the first church building was purchased for $250 and moved on to the lot. This was a building that had been constructed for use as a barn but never used in that capacity. It was remodeled and became the first church.[[In-content Ad]]Between 1939 and 1948, a new church building was constructed on the current site. It included some very techno-advances like electric lights!
The years between 1982-1985 brought the next major building changes. The 1948 structure was dismantled and the current structure was completed in phases. Dedication of this building was in 1985.
Just recently, we have completed more renovations with some new windows and paint and the addition of a new entry.
Pastor Hess praised, "We give God the glory for all that He has done over the past 90 years and we look forward with great anticipation toward what He will do in the future. The Alliance has a passion to fulfill Christ's Great Commission which is to preach the gospel to all nations and we will always try to promote deeper life teaching for all believers."
