Military Academy Information Session Scheduled At Backus American Legion on May 4
The academy offers a four-year educational program that is a blend of rigorous academics, leadership responsibility and physical fitness. Upon completion, West Point graduates receive a Bachelor of Science degree and a commission as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army. In return for a government paid education valued over $450,000 that includes tuition, room, board, medical and dental expenses, graduates are required to serve at least five years in the military.
The session is an opportunity to learn about the application process and help students and their families decide whether West Point and a commission in the Army might be a good choice for them. The session will also help educators better identify students who might benefit from such an experience.
Anyone interested in the session can contact Melinda Thein for information at [email protected] or (320) 444-1769. Information is also available on West Point's homepage at www.westpoint,edu or its admissions website at http://admissions.usma.edu.
RSVPs are not required to attend the session but are encouraged for planning considerations. Contact Thein to RSVP.
