Kitchigami to present another Legacy Concert: 'A World of Music with Todd Green'

Kitchigami Regional Library will present "A World of Music with Todd Green," Legacy concerts in Kitchigami communities during March and April. Green will present a community concert in Longville at St. Edwards Catholic Church on Tuesday April 12th at 7:00 p.m. The concert is free, and tickets may be picked up at the library.

Multi-instrumentalist Todd Green (pictured with the tools of his trade) performs original music on over 30 acoustic string, flute and percussion instruments from around the world, inspired by the cultures of the Middle East, Central Asia, Far East and South America. He uses digital samplers to record and overdub himself live on stage to become a one-man-orchestra of unique and exotic instruments from all over the world. Todd takes his audience on an amazing World Music tour, adding to his performance with entertaining and informative explanations of the music and instruments.[[In-content Ad]]

Todd Green has been writing and performing his music professionally since the age of 15. Green attended Berklee College of Music, and studied with guitar greats George Benson, Pat Matheny, Christopher Parkening, and Mick Goodrick. He studied ethnic instruments, including the Indian Bansuri flute with masters Sachdev and Steve Gorn. Green is known for his diverse talent on a multitude of string, flute and percussion instruments. He is acclaimed for his virtuosity on the Middle Eastern Oud or Kemenche, the South American Charango and Zamponia, and the East Indian Tablas or Santoor.

Todd Green's artistic mission is to "help bring down the barriers that divide us by experiencing other cultures through their music." Regardless of your musical interests and background, a Todd Green performance is a unique experience that will broaden your musical horizons in an unforgettable way.

The Todd Green Kitchigami Legacy Concert tour is made possible with funding from the State of Minnesota Legacy Amendment, Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
