Cass County Honor Guard receives donations


WALKER - Cass County Sheriff's Office Honor Guard was the recipient of two generous donations at the May 17th County Board Meeting that was held in Remer.

Steve Hoopman, representing Hackensack American Legion Post No. 202, presented a check to the Honor Guard in the amount of $450. Steve, as the owner of the Keller Fence Company-North, also presented a donation check to the Honor Guard in the amount of $250.

The Honor Guard consists of eight dedicated Deputies - Aaron Ammerman, Ryan Fisher, Ken Gardner, Bob Landreville, Eric Lueth, Chas Ratz, Chris Thompson and Sgt. Bryan Welk. The Honor Guard is utilized for funerals, parades, flag raising ceremonies and other functions approved by the Sheriff. These deputies volunteer their time for Honor Guard duties, as well as training.

The Honor Guard is completely funded by donations, which are used for training, equipment and uniforms.
