BACKUS -Our fine feathered friends, the snowbirds, are returning in an annual rite of spring and the Backus American Legion will welcome them and winter survivors at a party from 4-8 p.m., Sat., April 16.

The annual Welcome Back Snowbirds, Frozen survivor and Customer Appreciation Party will include complimentary food and door prizes, musical comedy skits, a 50-package meat raffle and a "Garden Party" themed costume contest.[[In-content Ad]]

Dozens of free door prizes include a casino hotel, dining and gaming package. Comedy entertainment begins at 5:30 p.m. and costume judging and prizes will start at 6 p.m. The meat raffle begins at 5 p.m.

Following the party are the weekly free customer and cash drawings at 9 p.m.
