Adventures in Reading program announced

The Northland Area Family Service Center is proud to announce a new program. Adventures In Reading (AIR) is a literacy-based home visiting program. Research shows the importance of reading to babies and toddlers to support language development from a very early age and the effect it has on their education for many years. Brenda Daudt, the AIR Coordinator, visits families with children from birth to 3 years old. She brings out age appropriate books and literacy and language enhancing activities that correspond with the books. She visits each family once a month and meets with children and parents to discuss the importance of reading and the best types of books to support children's early language development. Brenda also provides resources and information about other Family Center and School District early childhood education programs. AIR is open to all families and promotes the importance and joys of reading with your children.

The AIR program will have a booth on Family Fun Night in the Remer Elementary School gym on December 7th, from 6 to7:30 pm.

For information please contact: Brenda Daudt at the Family Center 218-363-3348 or 218-821-2659 (cell)
