Aug. 4, 1921
Cassius H. Case received a telegram that the remains of his son George H. Case, who was killed in action in France, will be shipped to Walker for burial. Military honors conducted by William C. Spencer Post No. 134.
Mrs. William Spain, proprietor of the North Star Ranch on Woman Lake, was in Walker on business Tuesday.
George Peabody, carpenter of Hackensack, fell from a scaffold while building the Hackensack School and is confined to the hospital at Walker.

July 26, 1946
The Bob DeGarmo family of Newberry, MI moved to the Clarence Kinkel farm. He works at the Longville Garage.
The Perry Sheldon family moves to Longville and he’s the operator of the Longville Creamery.
A baby boy was born to Mr. & Mrs. Eugene Bushard at the Itasca Hospital on July 17th and a baby daughter to Mr. & Mrs. Maynard Free on the same date.

July 29, 1971
Monte McKeig has purchased the old Gray place and moved his family up this week to live in a double mobile home.
The Ronnie Garners of Minneapolis spent the weekend visiting at the George Garners.
Ground is being broken and excavating taking place for a new barber shop and Laundromat across the street from the Remer OK Hardware. Gordon Lilyquist will be the owner of the new facility.

An EMS Extravaganza was held July 3rd. Chuck Ratz, Longville Police and Melanie Mix, Longville EMT, fingerprinted children and handed out ID cards and wallets which were donated by the Longville Lions Club.
On Remer Fireman’s day, the Lawnmower Drag Races, were a fun event. Eric Stollie on a red Toro won 10+Hp. Open Stock first place winner was Bryan Welk. The Crowd Pleaser winner, “The Lawn Rod,” was developed by Shane Pound, Brian Snakenburg and Matt Hinz.
American Legion Post 202 of Hackensack has six members who have reached the 50-year milestone as members. Four of the six are Bill Green, Bill Kramer, Andy Bray and Bob Duncan.
