Northland School Board hires new Assistant Principal/Activities Director

   The Northland School Board held a special meeting on Thurs., Aug. 12 to approve the hire of two new staff members. The hire of Janessa Green was approved on a 4-1 vote as Assistant Principal/Activities Director with a start date of Aug. 19. Green joined the meeting via Google Meets to answer any questions the board had and share with them her background. Although reception was lost with her, the board had principal Mary Yakibchuk share information on what impressed her on Green’s resume.

   The board also approved the hire of Abbie Newman as a full-time teacher with a start date of Aug. 27; a memorandum of employment with Kristen Balvin, Executive Secretary to the Superintendent and Brenda Snakenberg, Food Service Director and a resolution for membership in Minnesota State High School League for the 2021-22 school year.

   The Board scheduled the following meeting: a regular meeting, Thurs., Aug. 19 at 5:30 p.m. all meetings are held at Northland High School.
