Aug. 18, 1921
The bridge at Ah Gwah Ching is open again, which is a great convenience to those wishing to get to that section. It is now possible to drive as far as Pine Island.
Burt Malmo passed through Pine Lake Wednesday on his way to Walker. He is building an addition to the Longville school.
The Woodford boys furnished music Saturday evening for a dancing party at the new cottage on Pau-puck-keewis Point.

Jim Robbins is doing some threshing work in the neighborhood of Boy River this week.
Olson’s truck was out picking up stock twice last week in Blind Lake township.
Mr. & Mrs. Cy Kline celebrated their 21st wedding anniversary this week in Longville.

Aug. 12, 1971
Mrs. Monte McKeig and children and Mrs. Wattles, Valerie and Phil spent Tuesday at the McKeig’s cabin on Sugar Point.
Mr. and Mrs. Thea Thomas called on Mrs. Will Shepard at Blind Lake. They used to live on the farm now occupied by the Melvin Larsens.
Over 100 relatives enjoyed a picnic dinner at the Ernest Ford home on July 25th.

Alfretta “Jean” Hoff, born August 15, 1906, died July 28th. She married Harry H. Hoff in 1933. They moved to Minnesota in 1952, operating Fireside Lodge on Swift Lake. In 1983 they moved to Longville. They recently moved to Illinois. One of her nieces was Audrey (Henry) Tobiason.
Twenty-five years ago a tornado struck a property, K. Cash Luck, on Thunder Lake. The next morning neighbors, people from Remer and men who worked in the woods cut away devastation caused to over 2,150 trees.
Becky Hoffman and Melissa Schultz, both of Remer, were named to the Dean’s list for Spring Quarter at Itasca Community College.
