April 7, 1926
Through the activity of Congressman Knutson it seems that the highway from No. 34 to Onigum will at last be completed. The House of Representatives passed a $6,000 item for construction of the road.
Frank Simpson of Federal Dam is sawing his oak into ties and lumber which he had cut off Blackduck Point this winter.
Ed Aldrich has moved to Federal Dam where he expects to work on the Soo Line section this summer.

April 3, 1951
Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Pospichal are the proud parents of a baby girl at Boy Lake. Harold Atherton is staying at Alec Wakes helping care for his father.
Mrs. James Miell left Hackensack last Friday for Gibbon, Mn to visit with her daughter and family, the George Withams, formerly of Walker.
Mr. and Mrs. Bill Rogers of Remer and son Billy and Ida Huffman visited at the Ware home in Brainerd on Sunday.

April 2, 1976
Army Private Mark Renn, son of Mr. and Mrs. Leo Renn of Remer, was assigned March 1 to the 25th Infantry Division at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii.
Barbara Berres was born in 1890. As a child she visited her sister Kate, Mrs. J.H. Tabaka and sister Ann, Mrs. Tony Malone, who both had homesteaded in Longville. She took the train to Backus and then started the trip to Longville by horse and buggy. She and her brother Jack homesteaded their own wooded plots on Long Lake near Longville. She died March 9th.
A Remer feller named Sam, was approached from behind by a ram. He was raised from his feet, with such force that he beat, the Soo into Federal Dam.

A labor of love by the Mule Lake Property Owners Association was rewarded on Valentine’s Day. The DNR secured 360 acres of prime fish and wildlife habitat on the east shore of Mule Lake. The area is named the Mule Lake Wildlife Management area.
Mary Elizabeth Sterns Kibbler was born November 20, 1907, and moved with her parents Charles and Elizabeth Sterns to Boy River in 1911. She attended the Wallace and Huset schools, the Boy River High School and graduated from Bemidji High School in 1932. She also attended Bemidji State College. Mary married Erwin Leroy Kibbler in 1932, and they raised three children. Mary Ann Lake and her husband Toney live at Boy River.
