Ms. Bishop was nominated by a colleague and selected through a vote by Northland-Remer Education Minnesota members, administrators, and school board members.
A graduate of Hill City High School, Bishop has known since fifth grade that she wanted to become a teacher, inspired by her own educator, Diana Magner. She went on to pursue her degree in elementary education at The College of St. Scholastica in Duluth.
During the final semester of her college career, Bishop was hired to teach fifth grade at Northland for the summer of 2022. Although she never expected to work at her former “rival” school, she quickly found her place and has loved teaching fifth grade ever since.
Since joining Northland, Bishop has been actively involved in both the classroom and the school community. Early in her career, she taught summer school, coached junior varsity softball and volleyball, and served as an advisor for the prom committee. In January 2023, she also began pursuing her master’s degree—balancing her professional responsibilities with continued education.
While completing her graduate studies, Bishop stepped away from coaching to focus on her degree, later expanding her involvement through leadership and instructional roles. She has contributed to several initiatives, including PBIS, AVID, the HRS Leadership Team, and curriculum review committees.
In May 2025, Bishop earned her master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction, with an emphasis in reading, from Minnesota State University Moorhead.
Bishop expresses deep gratitude to the colleagues and mentors who have supported her journey. “I am very thankful to everyone who has helped guide me at Northland,” she shared. “It is an honor to teach in this community.”
