Local non-profit Happy Dancing Turtle is hosting a swap for books, puzzles, games, DVDs, and CDs from 9am to noon on Saturday, January 17 at the Happy Dancing Turtle office on the Hunt Utilities Group Resilient Living Campus, 2331 Dancing Wind Rd SW in Pine River.
“We call this the Snowed In Swap. But it could just as easily be the ‘Frozen In’ Swap,” said Jenny Hill, HDT staff and one of the organizers. “January can feel like a long month because we often spend more time indoors. Having a free source of entertainment items can be a life-saver! And for those of us who want to declutter or reorganize, this is a fun way to pass along gently used items. Let’s reuse what we no longer want and reduce trash.”
At this no-cost event, participants may take items for free. You do not need to drop off items in order to take other items. Be aware the swap is intended for individuals and families—no resellers, please. Gently used items will be accepted from noon to 6pm on Thursday, January 15 and 8am to noon on Friday, January 16. Examples of items accepted in good working order include books, magazine, puzzles, games, DVDs and CDs—visit https://www.happydancingturtle.org/events/snowed-in-swap for a full list of items that will be accepted. If you have questions about the event, please contact Jenny Hill at [email protected] or 218-587-2303.
