100 Years Ago
March 11, 1926
Miss Martha Brevik and Letha Atwood are spending spring vacation at their parents’ homes. Martha completed the two-year course at Bemidji State Teachers College last Friday and will begin teaching kindergarten in the Deer River school
The Federal Dam school building has settled eight inches during the last couple of weeks and parents are keeping their children out of school as the building is unsafe.
Wilkinson was snowed in for the first time this winter, the road leading to the state road being blocked by the storm on Saturday.
75 Years Ago
March 9, 1951
Because of the bad snowstorm on Thursday, the Boy River school is not open. Sunday the snowplow was busy plowing out the main roads. Many side roads are just being opened today (Friday).
Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Eibes visited Friday evening at the Roy Hardy home at Blind Lake.
Thomas Maher suffered a heart attack while repairing the interior of the Remer Trading Post. He died instantly.

March 4, 1976
A Cass County feller named Speck, got caught in a bad auto wreck. He got mighty mad, when he found the shock had, pushed the seat of his pants up his neck.
Mr. and Mrs. Larry Ryan and children from Duluth spent the weekend at Blind Lake township at Harry McKeebes and called at Daubers and Aunt Maxine McKeebes.
Miss Susan Ringwell, a former Hackensack resident for over 40 years, celebrated her 102nd birthday on February 13th at a Hastings nursing home.

The Longville Lions Club recently donated $500 to the Harmon family of Longville to help cover the costs of the fire that destroyed their home.
David Koch of Boy River died February 22 of non Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. He was the son of Hans Koch and husband to Lisa (Brown) and father to daughter, Kali.
Lloyd “Skee” Green of Remer has been recognized by the Lions Clubs International Foundation as a Melvin Jones Fellow, the foundation’s highest honor.
