Sherry Manders, age 70, of Hackensack, MN went to be with the Lord Jesus on Sunday, February 15, 2026. She was born in Grand Rapids, MN to Willis and Daisy Manders on May 6, 1955.
She grew up in Longville, MN, attended Longville Elementary School and graduated from Northland High School in Remer, MN in 1973. Sherry attended Southwest State University for 2 years in Marshall, MN and completed a business degree in Duluth, MN. She loved to read and enjoyed music, playing the piano, clarinet, and cello. After working in Grand Rapids for a wild rice company, she moved to Minneapolis for an administrative assistant job. After receiving a kidney donation, she returned to Longville in 1999 to be closer to family. Sherry enjoyed spending time celebrating birthdays and holidays together. Her specialties were chocolate brownies, crescent rolls, and cookies for all the kids. In 2024, Sherry relocated to Birchview Assisted Living in Hackensack, MN. She made new friendships with the staff who became dear to her. Her kindness, generosity, love of friends and family and great sense of humor will be missed.
Sherry became a Jesus follower as a young adult. She was a member of Longville Bible Chapel and attended there until unable to do so. She served on the Mission Committee and corresponded with many missionaries.
Sherry is survived by her siblings, Catahy (Randy) Swanson of Long Prairie, MN, Merilee ( Doug) Payne of Longville, MN, Kay ( Mark) Sartor of Princeton Junction, NJ and Jay (Sue) Manders of Pine River, MN, 8 nieces, 1 nephew and 14 great nieces and nephews (which she adored), cousins and many friends. Sherry is preceded in death by her grandparents, Guy and Ora Bartlett of Nebraska, Ralph and Selma Manders of Longville, MN, her parents, Willis and Daisy Manders, and aunts and uncles.
A memorial service will be held at Longville Bible Chapel on March 7th at 11:00 AM with a visitation at 10:00 AM.
