Feb. 25, 1926
The Harvey Hardware store at Hackensack was purchased by R.B. Isaacs who was formerly engaged in the general merchandise business but lost his building and stock by fire last winter.
It is rumored that a dance hall and beauty parlor will be built in Longville this spring.
George Ford of Longville, prominent and well-known citizen of the Longville community, is intensely interested in politics and probably controls a larger family vote than any man in Cass County, 39 votes.

Feb. 23, 1951
William Codner, a Jenkins and Backus resident, passed away February 7. He married Viola Gorst in 1921, and they had 10 children. He did railroad shop work and woodworking but was best known for his hunting and trapping skills.
George Hedin, owner of the Red and White store and locker plant in Remer, is recovering from burns he received re-lighting a smoker.
Mrs. Bob Neururer taught for Mrs. Schneider this past week at Federal Dam as Mrs. Schneider was ill.

Feb. 19, 1976
Mr. and Mrs. Keith Dupre, Hackensack went to Blaine on Monday to make the acquaintance of their new granddaughter, Stephanie Lynn, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Johnson.
Scott’s 200 Club will be open Thurs., Fri., Sat., Sun. beginning Thursday Feb. 26th.
The Leech Lake Buying Club will hold its second order meeting on February 18 at the Walker Armory.

Main Street, Longville, will receive a fall facelift just after Labor Day, with street resurfacing, new sidewalks and additional improvements as part of the County Rd. 5 project.
Russell (Sonny) Henderson died February 14th. He was born October 19, 1924, in Federal Dam to Ole and Gina (Geire) Henderson. He married Edna Sonju in 1955, and they moved to Cohasset until 1969 when he moved back to Federal Dam, cultivated wild rice and also worked at Grand Rapids.
