   Arlene Patricia (Riggles) Bubar, age 82, passed away peacefully at her home in Bemidji, MN, on February 11, 2026, Our Lady of Lourdes Feast Day, surrounded by her girls.

   Arlene was born on October 12, 1943, to Clifford and Clara (Shamp) Riggles in Cass Lake, MN, where she grew up and attended elementary and high school. Arlene then went to college at Bemidji State College where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in 1964. Following college, Arlene taught at Osseo Elementary School for two years before teaching at Cass Lake Elementary School. In 1962, Arlene met the love of her life, Butch Bubar, while working at The Sweet Shop in downtown Cass Lake. They married in 1964 and spent 48 amazing years together raising three daughters and welcoming multiple grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom were the center of her world. Her and Butch then started Bubar Trucking where she served as the bookkeeper for the next 35 years.  Along with her lifelong devotion to St. Charles Catholic Church, Arlene enjoyed spending summers at their cabin on West Pike Bay for many years, attending her daughters’, grandkids’, and great-grandkids’ sporting activities, wintering in Vero Beach, Florida, and taking RV trips with her husband. Arlene loved her family fiercely and had an unshakable faith in God. All who knew her were undoubtedly touched by her selfless, courageous, honest, and loving heart. Her friendships to many will be forever treasured and deeply missed. 

   Arlene is survived by her daughters Gina (Kevin) Olson, Jodi Bubar Schroeder, and Julie (Mark) Agustin; grandchildren Cale Douglas Mills, Hanna Jean Olson Zuehlke, Carlie Marie Schroeder Anderson, Heather Ann Olson, Caitlyn Ruth Schroeder, and Hunter Jon Olson; and great-grandchildren Myla Marie Zuehlke, Marlie Kaye Zuehlke, Mariano Dean Zuehlke, and Lainey Arlene Anderson.

   She is preceded in death by her father, Cliff Riggles; mother, Clara Riggles; brother Kenny Riggles; brother and sister-in-law Joe & Pat Riggles; and loving husband, Charles “Butch” Bubar.

   A memorial service for Arlene will be held on Friday, February 20, 2026, at 11 AM at St. Charles Catholic Church in Cass Lake, MN, with Father Trevor Peterson presiding. A gathering of family and friends will be held prior to the service from 10 – 11 AM. A light lunch will follow the service. Burial will be in the spring at Pine Grove Cemetery in Cass Lake, MN.
