LACF Donates to WAFS

The Walker Area Food Shelf has received a $3,000 grant from the Longville Area Community Foundation. The funds will support programs that address food insecurity among seniors, youth and working families in the area. Board member Terri Fierstine (pictured left) accepted the check from Larry Jensen, grant liaison for the Foundation.

The Food Shelf provides groceries and fresh produce for individuals and families in need and regularly seeks donations of staple items such as butter, eggs and yogurt. Community members can also contribute through upcoming opportunities including SuperOne’s October Operation Round-Up and the statewide Give to the Max Day on Nov. 20, 2025.
