Donald (Don) Arthur Waldera, age 87, of Longville, MN, passed away on Saturday, September 6, 2025 at Centra Care in St Cloud, MN.
Don was born in Jamestown, ND, and grew up with his parents, Murrell and Edith Elliott in Fargo, ND. He graduated from Fargo High School in 1958. Don served in the Army from 1961 to 1964. He then moved to Aberdeen and worked as a Production Manager for Webb Publishing in Aberdeen for several years before being transferred to Minneapolis in 1969. In 1989, Don embarked on a new career as a Resort Owner of All Seasons Resort in Longville, MN. He also volunteered as a First Responder and was an EMT with the Longville Ambulance Crew. Don was very involved at Salem Lutheran Church in Longville, especially his work with Christian Men. He liked to do remodeling and was always “fixing stuff.” He rebuilt a Model A car and his children have many fond memories of driving around in that car! He lived in “fixer-upper” houses and was always starting projects for his son Dwayne to finish. Don loved sweets and was always up for a free meal “on time.” He also loved bird-watching.
Don is survived by his children: Denise Blake, David (Jan) Rempher, Dawn (Adam) Hicok and Dwayne Waldera; grandchildren: Jacob, Felicia, Melissa, Jennifer, Brian and Amy; and 10 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Edith and Murrell; and his brother David.
A service for Don will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2025 at 1 p.m. at Salem Lutheran Church in Longville, MN. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from noon-1 p.m. The service will be followed by a light lunch. A private family burial will be held at a later date at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Fargo, ND.
