Little Harold Mix of Inguadona broke his arm while playing last week. He fell from a wagon.
Geo. Glandon and Ralph Felton of Wabedo went to Boy River the first of the week to help C.A. Walker thresh.
Arvesta Gannon left Federal Dam Saturday for Superior where she will attend school.

September 8, 1950
Bruce Brown, 24, and Pearl Sepin, 29, of Remer applied for a marriage license.
The Henry VanEps home, Hackensack, was completely destroyed by fire along with all the contents of the home on Thursday afternoon.
Fay Fuller, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R.W. Fuller of Longville, was wed to Lewis Manthey of Wisconsin at the Community Church on August 30th.

September 18, 1975
Ruth Bishop, Longville Postmaster, retired from her postal duties at the close of business on September 12th. Margie Phipps will serve as officer in charge for the time being.
Clifton “Pinkie” Green died the first part of the week. He was the meat cutter at the Red Owl store for many years.
The US Air Force has promoted Michael Ayres, son of Evelyn Ayres of Remer, to the rank of airman first class. He is serving at Whiteman AFB, Missouri, as a inventory management specialist.

Two area students graduated from Bemidji State University: Jani Jordan of Remer graduated with a bachelor of science degree in social work, and David Strunk of Hackensack graduated with a bachelor of science degree with honors in environmental studies.
The Northland Community School Board of Education voted Thursday to present a referendum to District #118 voters Dec. 19 for $11.9 million that would include construction of a new Longville Elementary School and renovations at Remer schools.
Viola Olds, 80, died Sept. 18th. She and her husband James operated the Standard Oil Station in Outing from 1944 to 1967. She was also a rural mail carrier from Outing to Swatara for many years.
