Little Harold Mix of Inguadona broke his arm while playing last week. He fell from a wagon.
Geo. Glandon and Ralph Felton of Wabedo went to Boy River the first of the week to help C.A. Walker thresh.
Arvesta Gannon left Federal Dam Saturday for Superior where she will attend school.

August 25, 1950
Vernon Erickson of Blind Lake helped J. Eibes with their haying Monday. Elmer Holz left Monday morning for Fort Snelling for examination for the Army.
William Butcher, 32, and Gladys Monroe, 21, of Onigum applied for a marriage license.
Freak weather conditions brought a killing frost to the southern half of Cass County, killing everything from corn to tomatoes and potatoes.

Area Senior Citizens went to the State Fair on Senior Citizens Day. Bessie Bray of Hackensack was named the outstanding woman from Cass County.
Brett Dutton of Northland High school, Remer, has been selected for Prep Track and Field Athletes of the Year.
Gene Parrish of Minneapolis, son of Merv Parrish of Hackensack, participated in the World Softball Slo-pitch tournament at Cleveland, Ohio. His team took 7th place.

One of the reasons grandchildren brighten up your house is because they never turn off the lights.
Larry Ward, 54, of Remer died Aug. 30th. An Avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed dogsledding, snowmobiling, fishing, and camping. He built the lightest sled to ever finish the Iditarod in its time, as well as fishing tackle, birdfeeders, boats, and his own home.
A new park pavilion in Hackensack was dedicated and was donated to the City by American Legion Post 202.
