There’s spooky fun to be had in the Lakeland! Ghouls and ghosts of all ages will be lurking this Halloween for family-friendly fun. Area communities have planned safe Halloween trick-or-treating events for kids.
Remer
The 13th annual “Trunk or Treat” event returns this Halloween, Friday, Oct. 31, at the Northland School front parking lot from 5:00 - 6:00 p.m.!
In addition to frightening fun, there will be food, face painting, hayrides, candy and prizes for best costume and best decorated trunk. Come hungry as the High School Seniors will be serving sloppy joes, chips and water for a free will donation!
Hackensack
The Hackensack Hub is hosting a community Halloween night from 4:30 - 6:30 p.m. on October 31. Instead of waiting at home for kids that may not come, bring your treats to the Hub! Tables and chairs are provided for you to decorate and use. Setup begins at 4 p.m. Wear a costume to add to the fun!
Pine River
The Pine River Public Library will host a community Trick-or-Treat event on Friday, October 31, from 1 to 3 p.m., immediately following the dismissal of PR-B School.
Children are invited to decorate their own treat bags before visiting a variety of craft and game stations set up throughout the library, where treats will be available. Participants are welcome to attend in costume.
Backus
The Backus Church of the Nazarene will host a Trunk or Treat event from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Friday, October 31. Stop by and check out the trunks, games, food and fun.
Emily
The Emily Fire & Rescue Dept. will host a Trunk or Treat in conjunction with the Crooked Lake Volunteer Fire Dept. and Fifty Lakes Fire & Rescue Dept. Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. The event will be held at the Emily ball fields behind the Emily Fire Hall off Co. Rd. 1. Treat bags provided by the Outing Area Chamber of Commerce, Lakers Lions will serve hot dogs, prizes will be awarded for best decorated trunk and enjoy hayrides during the event.
Walker
The Cass County Sheriff’s Office annual Trick or Treat event will be held Halloween night at Cass Co. Sheriff’s Office parking lot across from Dairy Queen.
Receive some treats and safety tips all while visiting with the Sheriff’s office staff from 5 p.m. until 6:30 p.m.
