Oct. 29, 1925
Mr. Ed I.P. Staede of Walker and A.O. Miller of Backus plan to start the Security State Bank in Hackensack.
Quite a number of the young folks enjoyed the first skating on Girl Lake on Sunday.
Trelipe teachers are giving a basket social Thanksgiving to add to the piano fund of $40.50. Mrs. H.G. Gearhart of Duluth donated $10 and several records for the school phonograph.

Oct. 27, 1950
The Boy River school carnival and dance is Saturday evening, Oct. 28th with fun for everyone; wrestling matches, fish pond, skits, lunch and dancing.
Mr. and Mrs. Andy Giffen and family of Federal Dam drove to the southern part of the state to hunt pheasants.
Mr. and Mrs. Rohder of Sugar Point have taken over the store at Brevik.

Nov. 6, 1975
The Remer Sportsman’s Club held a games party at Northland High School on October 30th with eight t-bone steaks as the door prize.
Mr. and Mrs. Corwin Felton announce the marriage of their daughter Beverly to Jerry Benoit on October 25th.
Don and Rita Hilfiker from California flew their private plane to the Longville airport and are vacationing at a place they purchased near the Brevik Chapel.

Nov. 1, 2000
Linda Jean Bedeau, 46, died Oct. 24. Born to Charles and Eliza Bedeau, she lived in Onigum and Minneapolis. She is survived by a sister, Charlotte White, and brothers Ken and Duane Bedeau.
The Annual Veteran’s Day sponsored by VFW Post 772 and Auxiliary dinner will be held at the YAH Club in Longville.
The Duluth Clinic-Remer will be giving away gun locks, one per family, until the locks are gone.
