Acclaimed author Mary Casanova, known for her award-winning novels and picture books for children and young adults, will be touring the Kitchigami Regional Library System this November. With stops scheduled at several branch libraries, Casanova will engage with readers ranging from teen to adults through readings, author talks, and book signings.
Spanning November 3–15, the tour will bring Casanova to communities in the counties of Wadena, Hubbard, Beltrami, Cass, and Crow Wing. Each event is free and open to the public.
Mary Casanova is the author of more than 40 books, including Frozen, Moose Tracks, and several titles for American Girl®. Her work has earned honors such as the Minnesota Book Award, American Library Association “Notable” distinctions, and inclusion on national reading lists. Drawing inspiration from the natural beauty of northern Minnesota, Casanova’s writing resonates with both young readers and adults.
All Kitchigami Regional Libraries have copies of Frozen, and teens may participate in an independent book club prior to Mary touring. In the month of December, the book Ice Out will be available for a winter book club leading up to Mary’s return for her teen writers’ workshop in the spring. Each teen that participates receives a free “Beyond the Margins” journal and pencil to inspire their own journaling.
We’re thrilled to welcome Mary Casanova back to our libraries, and this tour is a rare opportunity for our communities to connect with her in person.
