   The Backus Lions hold four basic fundraisers during the year. The Polish stand at Godfrey’s parking lot runs from Memorial Day through Labor Day.  The third weekend in July is when the Lions have their annual Fly-in Pancake Breakfast. We hold our peach sale in August. The date for that is determined by when Palisade Peach Company lets us know when peaches are ready and can be delivered. Our fourth event is happening on November 8 when we hold our Craft/Bake/Garage sale.  

   The money raised from these events goes to the various Lions Foundations, special requests from community organizations, and scholarships. One upcoming event will be serving cookies, cheese and crackers to the staff and clients at the DAC center in December. Santa joins us and it is always a fun afternoon for those in attendance.  

   The Backus Lions invite everyone to check out this year’s sale and have some cranberry muffin cake with butter sauce and some apple cider or coffee.  Hours for the sale are from 8 to 1 at the Nazarene Church in Backus (618 State 371 NW). We want to express our appreciation to everyone who has supported the Backus Lions during 2025 and look forward to seeing you again at our 2026 events.
