May 28, 1925
A new post office is to be established at the Whipple & Holtze Boat Livery and store on No. 34 near Pipe Island. Mrs. Whipple is the only applicant for the position of postmaster.
The Longville cemetery was cleaned up and a new fence and gates finished when the community observed their annual cleanup day.
Miss Dorothy Jordan of Longville graduated from Remer High School last week and is enjoying a vacation at home.

May 26, 1950
Mr. John Milligan is assisting at the Longville Liquor Store.
The Junior/Senior Prom was held at the Hackensack school house Saturday evening with the mothers putting on supper.
Enos Stanley reports a good run of sap and got many gallons of maple syrup.

Airman Alan Scheibe, son of Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Scheibe, has graduated at Lowry Air Force Base, Colorado as a US Air Force munitions maintenance specialist.
Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Seastedt, former residents of Longville, announce the marriage of their daughter Barbara Ann to Michael Scott Griffith on May 14. They live in Daisy, Tennessee.

Amy Swanson was named to the School of Fine Arts Dean’s List for Academic Excellence at the U of MN-Duluth for the Spring semester. She is the daughter of Ed and Marci Swanson of Hackensack.
American Legion Post 202, Hackensack, donated $1000 to the Cass County Veterans Service Officer and Commissioner Glenn Witham for a Veterans’ van.
Lindsey Reed, daughter of Barb Reed and Jim Foster of Remer, has been selected as a state finalist in the Miss Minnesota American Coed Pageant to be held Aug. 12, 13, and 14.
