The Longville town board met Tuesday and let the contracts for clearing the road on the east and south of Long Lake.
Miss Ellen Johnson and pupils will have a picnic Friday with a program in the afternoon to mark the close of another school year.
In Wabedo Joe Robinson and a stranger had a narrow escape Friday night when both cars came together at the very dangerous corner by the Becker bridge.

May 19, 1950
Guy Denny reported that Wednesday night thieves broke into the garage at Bena. They backed up a truck and loaded car accessories and tires.
Mr. and Mrs. Carl Sonstegaard of Longville are the proud parents of a baby girl weighing 7 pounds and 12 ounces, born May 10.
Mr. and Mrs. W.C. Maeser are moving into the King home east of Hackensack which they have rented for a year.

On the evening of May 3rd strange lights were seen on Woman Lake around 9:30-10:00. They were unidentified, UFOs?
Mr. and Mrs. Bud Abbott of Joliet, Illinois, have returned to operate their resort “Abbot’s Acres” on Stony Lake.
Mr. Robert Woodruff of Hackensack went to Crane Lake Wednesday where he is employed for the summer.

Julie Gehringer and Jesse Chalich with their parents Tom and Judy Gehringer of Mohall, ND and Joe and Cheryl of Boy River announce their upcoming marriage.
The Pieper triplets Karalyn, Elizabeth, and Andrew were born March 31st. to Bill and Deb (How) Peiper. Deb is formerly of Boy River.
A Seniors dining site, sponsored by Nutrition Services, Inc. is available in Boy River at Jerry’s Steakhouse with meals served Monday-Friday at 11:45.
